The Winter Games weren’t all that was going on in Russia this month… if you’ve been following the news, you know that some serious anti-gay bigotry has been on the rise, even at the highest levels of government.
What you might not know is how much of a role American right-wing leaders have played with efforts to make homophobia a national export.
PFAW’s new Right Wing Watch: In Focus report, “Globalizing Homophobia: How the American Right Supports and Defends Russia’s Anti-Gay Crackdown,” released this month, examines how American right-wing leaders have played an important role in promoting anti-gay policies not just in Russia, but around the world, working to inflame the passions of bigotry in Africa, Europe, South America and the Caribbean.
We also hosted an informative telebriefing on the subject for PFAW members led by PFAW senior fellow Peter Montgomery.
